Pair of '30s Rocking Eggcups - Chicks dressed as Clowns (Sold)

Here is a pair of very scarce porcelain rocking eggcups modelled as cute chicks dressed as clowns. They are 1930s, and made in Germany for the English market. Rocking eggcups from this period, or 'Rockers' as they are sometimes called, are not surprisingly very scarce and difficult to find (as many would have been "rocked" by children and broken). One of them is marked to its base with the typical circular "foreign" backstamp, found on many German eggcups of this period.
