A Lustre Pottery Long John Silver Egg Cup (Sold)

A moulded Lustre Pottery Long John Silver egg Cup with a peg leg, designed by Roger Michell for Lustre Pottery and Rising Hawk. This series was only ever made by Lustre Pottery and Rising Hawk.
Lustre Pottery originally made this series as hand thrown pieces, then when demand increased, they were moulded. After these examples Rising Hawk produced them, and this example still bears the (now extremely scarce) sticker for both Lustre Pottery '74 and Rising Hawk(see. illus. above) - as such with both labels intact, this is a rare survival!
Condition is very good with no damage or restoration. Very fine unobtrusive overall crazing to the glaze.
