Paragon Mother Goose Series Bowl by Chloe Preston - (Sold)

A scarce Paragon porcelain child's bowl, hand painted in enamels, from the Mother Goose series introduced in 1918 and designed by Chloe Preston. The bowl is decorated with an illustration of Little Bo Peep sobbing at the loss of her sheep and with the nursery rhyme written to her side.
Condition is good with only a 1 mm "flea-bite" chip to the back edge of the rim (This may have been a firing flaw.). The illustration is in excellent condition with hardly any rubbing. There are several insignificant surface scratches in the glaze over the white background adjacent to Little Bo Peep's bonnet.
Marked to Base with the Paragon Star mark and "PARAGON CHINA ENGLAND Mother Goose Series".
